Inbox zero has a reputation for being an unrealistic productivity fantasy, but a simplified version of it is genuinely achievable.

Sort Instead of Perfect
Rather than aiming to answer every email immediately, sort incoming messages into three categories: needs a reply, needs to be read later, and can be archived. Most inbox stress comes from mixing all three together in one endless scroll.

Reduce What Comes In
Unsubscribing from newsletters you never read and setting up filters for recurring automated emails cuts inbox volume significantly. Checking email at set times rather than constantly also reduces the pressure to react to everything the moment it arrives.
The goal is not a permanently empty inbox, just one that no longer feels overwhelming.
